Area Catholic Community (ACC) MAAA
About Us
In May of 2019 our ACC was established.
The name MAAA was chosen for our ACC, which is the acronym for
St. Mary's (Chokio), Ave Maria (Wheaton), St. Anthony (Browns Valley),
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, (Morris).
MAAA located in the southwestern area of the Diocese of St. Cloud, seeks greater collaboration between the four parishes with the ACC. In building mutual friendships, offering spiritual resources, and sharing comprehensive pastoral services for their parishioners, MAAA serves the benefit of every parish, while offering what they have for the common good of the Body of Christ.
In the spring of each year the Pastor of the Parishes within the MAAA ACC will propose the appointment of new lay members for consideration and approval to the Parish Pastoral Council from where the lay person is parishioner with the MAAA ACC.
A regular term of office shall be three (3) years. Terms of office shall be staggard so that each year, four (4) members, one (1) lay member from each of the four parishes will be newly selected.
After the completion of the first three (3) year term, the outgoing member shall communicate whether he/she is willing to serve a second (3) year term.
